INVOLVED
If you want to make a difference in our community to end food insecurity, and keep your neighbors housed, consider using your time, talent, and treasure to connect with Western Fairfax Christian Ministries. Volunteer, participate in events, hold a food drive, or donate knowing you are making a difference.
VOLUNTEER
TODAY.
WFCM's volunteers are the heart of our operation and essential to our mission. Our volunteers give their time and talent to serve our neighbors in need. Volunteer support is essential - without our volunteers, there is no way that WFCM could provide all the services we do for our local community.
-
Volunteers serve on our Board of Directors
-
Volunteers from supporting congregations serve as Church Champs, acting as liaisons connecting us with their congregations and church leadership
-
Volunteers pick up and deliver food from local grocery stores, stock shelves, assist clients with food selection in our free food markets and bag their food
-
There are also opportunities for groups of adult and youth volunteers to serve in our warehouse or off-site to support our work
There are so many things our volunteers do to ensure our mission is lived out each day. In general, volunteer opportunities in our free food markets or warehouse require being able to lift 25 lbs. or more and wearing closed-toed shoes. Learn more below.

Youth Off-site Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways kids under age 14 can help with our work! Consider a food or toiletry drive in your neighborhood, at your school, or with any club. Another option is to collect plastic water bottles, rinse them out, fill them with laundry detergent, and label them. To request labels, or learn more , email volunteer@wfcmva.org.
