WFCM could not provide its services without the help of our incredible volunteers. They are essential to the mission of WFCM. The opportunities for volunteer service vary and include: long-term service, short-term service, one-time service, and both group and individual projects. We are always in need of great people to add to our volunteer team! Whether you can make a weekly commitment or just spare a few hours each month, we have an opportunity for you!

Volunteer Application

This listing is a general sampling of responsibilities. There may be other duties as assigned by individual department managers.

Administrative/Special Projects

• Participate in bulk mailings
• Participate in special projects and events
• Receive clients for pantry appointments
• Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate offices
• Operate copier machine as required
• Data entry

Emergency Financial Services

• Assist in making follow up calls regarding clients needs
• Assist in interviewing new clients

Food Pantry

• Stock shelves
• Help clients shop (if asked)
• Bag groceries
• Carry groceries out to clients’ cars
• Break down cardboard boxes and empty trash at end of each shift
• Leave pantry and bagging area stocked for following day
• Receive donations of food and provide receipts

Thrift Store

• Receive donations at back door
• Sort and hang clothing and household items for resale
• Cashier (once background check has been done)
• Keep store appearance neat and aisles clear
